Ten wyjątkowy dwupłytowy album zawiera pierwsze w historii nagranie wszystkich utworów klawesynowych solo Johanna Gottlieb Goldberg (1727–1756) w interpretacji Aliny Ratkowskiej. Urodzony w Gdańsku, Goldberg, student Johanna Sebastiana Bacha i jego syna Wilhelma Friedemanna, przeszedł do historii jako XVIII-wieczny wirtuoz klawesynu i szanowany kompozytor. Choć pozostawił po sobie tylko kilka utworów, jego dorobek artystyczny jest ceniony wśród znawców muzyki dawnej. Alina Ratkowska od wielu lat bada i promuje twórczość Goldberga, jest m. in. inicjatorką festiwalu noszącego jego imię, autorką monografii o kompozytorze (Śladami Goldberga) oraz redaktorem dwóch jego koncertów klawesynowych. Jest artystką wszechstronną, która zadziwia swoim opanowaniem i elastycznością w doborze repertuaru, z jednej strony pielęgnuje pamięć muzyki dawnej, a z drugiej popularyzuje twórczość kompozytorów współczesnych. Nic więc dziwnego, że jako jedyna otrzymała zgodę właściciela kolekcji na dodanie do płyty (poza utworami skatalogowanymi przez Alfreda Dürra) nieznanej dotąd Sonaty trzystopniowej F-dur, przechowywanej w Archiwum Bacha w Lipsku pod sygnaturą „Elias N. Kulukundis Collection, Depositum im Bach-Archiv Leipzig, Kulukundis I. 3. ”. Dzięki uprzejmości właściciela kolekcji, Sonata znajduje się na obecnej płycie.

This exceptional double album contains the first-ever recording of all solo harpsichord works by Johann Gottlieb Goldberg (1727–1756) interpreted by Alina Ratkowska. Born in Gdańsk, Goldberg, a student of Johann Sebastian Bach and his son Wilhelm Friedemann, went down in history as an 18th-century harpsichord virtuoso and respected composer. Although he left behind only a few pieces, his artistic output is valued among early music experts. Alina Ratkowska has been researching and promoting Goldberg's work for many years, including being the initiator of the festival bearing his name, the author of a monograph on the composer (In the Footsteps of Goldberg) and the editor of two of his harpsichord concertos. She is a versatile artist who amazes with her mastery and flexibility in choosing repertoire, on the one hand cultivating the memory of early music and on the other popularizing the work of contemporary composers. It is no wonder then that she was the only one to receive the consent of the collection owner to add to the disc (apart from the works catalogued by Alfred Dürr) the previously unknown Three-Motion Sonata in F major, kept in the Bach Archive in Leipzig under the signature "Elias N. Kulukundis Collection, Depositum im Bach-Archiv Leipzig, Kulukundis I. 3.". Thanks to the courtesy of the collection owner, the Sonata is included on the current disc.
