Xabier Díaz presents his third solo album, a long awaited project in the Galician folk scene and his most ambitious work to date entitled “THE TAMBOURINE MAN” together with the female band ADUFEIRAS DE SALITRE; a brand new recording to reinterpret the Galician musical tradition. Adufeiras de Salitre is a female band formed by eleven percussionists and singers coming also from traditional music scene from Galicia that, along with Gutier Álvarez (hurdy- gurdy and violin) and Javier Álvarez (diatonic accordion), accompany Xabier in this new project. Xabier adds to the album a sort of avant-garde and personal dressing to the tracks of “The tambourine man”, composed by eleven Galician traditional tunes and one from Castile, explaining track by track the source and inspiration that made him choose each song. “The tambourine man” features special guest collaborations by Kepa Junkera and Aleix Tobias (Coetus), along with some other Galician renowned musicians such as Xosé Manuel Budino, Fernando Barroso and Alfonso Merino.

Xabier Díaz is an essential voice in Galician traditional music. He was a former member of Nova Galega de Danza Company, performing in important acts like Alento, Engado and Tradición, which successfully toured throughout Spain. He was also a member of popular band Berrogüeto from 2008 to 2014, date that the band announced to split up. He combines the side of him as musician and composer with a hard-working agenda as researcher and compiler of traditional Galician folk tunes. Fruit of this work was the album “Coplas para Icía” (2007) together with Pedro Lamas and Suso Iglesias. He has recently taken part of aCadaCanto Project with Guadi Galego, Guillermo Fernández and Xosé Lois Romero. Throughout his music career he has been guest in many recordings and live acts with the likes of Luar na Lubre, Amancio Prada, Os Cempés, Marful, Nordestinas, Kepa Junkera, Uxía and Xosé Manuel Budino.
