Batzen Gaituena the newest album by Pablo Fdez. Arrieta is also the fourth one in his career as leader and the first one in collaboration with Karonte, the company responsible for the edition and the distribution. An elaborated project in which the obsession for the search of an own sound and style clearly stands out. Creative freedom based on a meticulous knowledge of jazz language and where there is no shortage of influences from other styles (Flamenco, Basque folk, Classical music, etc.).

The album includes five original compositions "Bolero de Perico", "Zyryab-en bila", "Hadji Murat", "Lady Godiva" and "waltz for Munera", two versions of traditional Basque music "Laboa", and "loa loa", a version of the lacrymosa of the Requiem by G. Verdi and closing the album a solo version of the Argentine zamba "Alfonsina y el Mar".

By his side, the excellent rhythm section formed by the pianist Abe Rábade, the double bass player Mario Rossy, Marc Miralta and Borja Barrueta (Loa Loa) on drums and percussion respectively. The album is illustrated by the Basque artist Mikel Lertxundi and has been subsidized by the department of culture of the Basque Government.
