This CD presents music closely connected with the state of
Baden-Wuerttemberg. Johann Pachelbel was Stiftskantor
(choir-master and organist) in Stuttgart from 1690-1692; F.I.
Beck was born in Mannheim and worked there until about 1760;
J.N. Hummel served as Kapellmeister in Stuttgart from 1816-
1818, J.J. Abert filled the same post from 1867-1888, and Milko
Kelemen, whose work was specially commissioned for this CD,
has lived in Stuttgart for 35 years, where he was a professor of
composition and has now become a true Stuttgart composer.
This CD was presented on the occasion of the Great National
Exhibition of Baden-Württemberg, in 2010, in which it
represented the historic musical culture of the country. This CD
is the official CD for the national exhibition and will be available
at the exhibition sites in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
