Géza Anda (Budapest, 1921-Zurich 1976) ranks among that select group of 20th century pianists whose groundbreaking performance style and artistic conception has ben an inspiration for future generations. Anda’s style of interpretation was always a reflection of his personality – noble, elegant but with an undercurrent of passion.

When in a live concert, Anda always presented his listeners a spontaneous performance – the result of deep reflection upon the music – choosing to linger uon the distinctive details of a work’s structure rather than engage in pyrotechnics for the sake of empty display.
