There is little doubt that Ravel made a decisive contribution to the piano repertory of the 20th century, introducing innovations in technique and style that would have a profound influence both on his contemporaries and on successive generations of composers. His relationship with the piano is also highly individual and never predictable, requiring great technical skill and a perfect control of the sonority.

With May's new release we present to you a few of these outstanding piano works, which the pianist Alessandra Ammara has recorded for our label. She has drawn the attention of the musical world after achieving brilliant results in some of the more important international piano competitions, such as the “A. Casagrande” in Terni and the “Esther Honens” in Calgary, Canada. She has performed all over Europe (Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Gasteig in Munich, Philharmonie in Berlin, Musikverein in Vienna, Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg), and in China, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, both as a soloist and with orchestra (Wiener Symphoniker, with Fabio Luisi, Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI, Calgary Philharmonic, CapeTown Philharmonic, Berliner Symphoniker). She has already produced numerous CDs with ARTS, which were all very well received.
