It was a real treat to witness the two merry musicians Jelena Poprzˇan and Rina Kac¸inari, aka Catch-Pop String-Strong, take the international music scene by storm with their self-titled debut album. Reviewers praised them for their “overwhelming performance,” their “enormous drive” and their “captivating and wonderfully inspiring music.” According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the album was “crazy” in the best sense of the word, while another German newspaper identified the duo as “the best thing ever imported from the Balkans to Vienna.” Several awards and a top ten position in the World Music Charts Europe later, Poprzan and Kacinari have now delivered a truly worthy successor album.

Catch-Pop String-Strong celebrate their joy in music with a vengeance. Their special mixture of genres and traditions steps impressively into the fore- ground, without ever seeming like a calculated effort, without ever losing its light-footedness. This works so well also because most of the pieces on the album are original compositions. Clearly, these two musicians are on a quest, and their quest is quite obviously also their goal. This second album can thus be experienced as a record of finding that comes with seeking, and evidence of the passionate musicality of two highly gifted individualists who complement each other to perfection.
