Two legendary classical musicians united: The Hungarian-Swiss pianist Géza Anda and the famous conductor Karl Böhm, who was particularly known and admired for his interpretations of the works of Richard Strauss and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Two legendary radio recordings are released here for the first time: Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 (recorded in Lucerne in 1963) and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 18 (recorded in Salzburg in 1974). The Mozart concert also marked Anda's farewell to Salzburg: In May 1975, he was diagnosed with cancer, to which he succumbed a year later at the age of just 54. Listening to the Salzburg recording recording in the knowledge of Anda's tragically early death, it seems that the shadow of a premonition lies over his playing.
