The Oliver Schnyder Trio plays two masterpieces of Czech/Bohemian music: the Piano Trio in G minor, op. 15, by Bedrich Smetana and the famous Trio No. 4 in E minor, op. 90, "Dumky" by Antonin Dvorak. The trio has chosen the title "Bohemian Rhapsodies" for their current album. On the one hand, this refers to the geographical origin of the recorded works, on the other hand, it is a deliberate homage to the album "Bohemian Rhapsody" by the pop group Queen, which was released in October 1975. "Bohemian Rhapsody"; can mean "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "Rhapsody of a Bohemian". And Smetana and Dvorak can also be seen as "bohemians" in a certain sense, as musicologist Eva Gesine Bauer vividly explains in her readable and detailed booklet text.
