What could be lighter, more French, than a CD with romantic flute music? The Japanese flutist Atsuko Koga is adding something new to her imaginative GENUIN debut CD in this duo with the cellist Ithay Khen. This programme includes works by the great composers Charles-Marie Widor, Jules Massenet, Charles Gounod and Franz Schubert, but also discoveries by Philippe Gaubert and François Borne, presenting the abilities of this internationally successful soloist in the very best light. Her playing is notable for its soulful tone and breathtaking virtuosity, blending together perfectly with the piano sound of Mayuko Miyata – quel bonheur!
