Even though Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart may have later reluctantly remembered his time in the service of the Archbishop of Salzburg, he was, together with his father Leopold and Michael Haydn, who was a friend of the Mozart family, one of the formative characters of Salzburg's musical life. The works recorded by the Capricornus Ensemble Stuttgart and Henning Wiegräbe show the playful, easy elegance that prevailed in Salzburg during the early classical period - especially in works with the participation of the shepherd's horn, a Salzburg specialty that Wiegräbe masters with virtuosity.

Recording: Evangelische Martin-Luther-Kirche, Stuttgart Sillenbuch, March 9th – 11th 2021.
