On its debut CD for CARUS, the excellent Bundesjugendchor under the direction of Anne Kohler explores the forest

and nature. The CD features works composed especially for the Bundesjugendchor, such as Jan Kopp's Ode to Sawdust.

There will also be compositions for mixed choir a cappella by Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Schumann, Reger and Ravel,

among others. The forest appears not only as a place of silence and longing, but also as a mysterious space and a

metaphor for the human conscience and our own vulnerability.
