Although the choral music plays an important role in the oeuvre of Heinrich von Herzogenberg (1843-1900), it did not get the attention it should have, especially since the composer found his own individual musical language.

With the meritorious recordings of some of his secular and sacred compositions by the ensemble cantissimo, headed by Markus Utz, a glaring gap repertoire was closed on CARUS in the years 2011-2013.
