The pianist and composer Thomas Castaneda is known as the founder of the music group "Donauwellenreiter" as well as the mastermind behind it. He undertook a study visit in Colombia in 2020 and performed at the Steinway Piano Hall in Bogotá. This was the first concert as soloist and the birth of ?Vélvez?.
Since then, this name stands for a new artist personality which gives free rein as soloist to his over the years developed and refined musical style. On his debut album, Vélvez processes the experiences and impressions of this trip in a double sense - to South America and towards a new artistic expression: music manifesting the feeling of being on the way, music in a limbo between ecstasy and melancholy and the permanent desire to discover something new.
