With his 1729 sonata collection, André Cheron (1695-1766) cultivates the “Corelli” notation, which was so highly regarded in the French Régence. The Ensemble Matís, founded in 2012, came together in the current formation at the Schola Cantorum Basilienis and is able to add a sounding Watteau with the works recorded here.
